Hilltop Winery
The Hilltop Winery in Neszmély was initially better known in the UK than Hungary. The company was founded in 1993 and its winemaker has been Ákos Kamocsay from the very beginning. He was named Winemaker of the Year in the UK in 1997 and then became Wine Producer of the Year in Hungary in 1999. The size of the estate is an impressive 560 hectares, boasting a modern winery with a 100,000-hectolitre capacity. Black grapes as well as Chardonnay and Olaszrizling are sourced from Bátaszek in the Szekszárd wine region, while the white varieties mainly come from Neszmély. Their premium range is now named after Ákos Kamocsay.
