Description
Located in Wachau—Austria’s most prestigious wine region—Domäne Wachau ranks among the country’s finest white wine producers. Wachau wines are characterized by steep terraced vineyards, a cool marginal climate, and barren primary rock soils. The "Federspiel" designation denotes dry, medium-bodied, and exceptionally elegant Wachau wines.
The Loibenberg Vineyard:
One of Austria’s most important vineyards. The stone terraces of Loibenberg rise to an altitude of 420 meters above sea level; some date back as far as the 14th century. The terroir is defined by weathered soil over Gföhl gneiss, layers of loess or clay, and the strong influence of the Pannonian climate. Loibenberg is one of the largest vineyards in the Wachau region and exhibits a diverse microclimate thanks to its numerous drainage gullies.
Vibrant straw-yellow with delicate green highlights; concentrated and intense on the nose, featuring distinct aromas of peach and apricot alongside exotic, smoky, and mineral notes. On the palate, the Loibenberg reveals great substance and depth, with lively acidity lending the wine brilliance and elegance. A wine with excellent aging potential.
Full-bodied white wines, such as Loibenberg Riesling, reveal their full potential when served at temperatures around 11–12°C.
