A fruity wine with a long finish, boasting aromas of intense violet and ripe sour cherry. It offers a silky mouthfeel and soft tannins—dangerously drinkable; simply impossible to put down. It is a flagship variety of Villány; harvestable early, its approachable tannin structure and rapid maturation potential mean it is ready to drink by St. Martin’s Day. When not subjected to excessive aging in large casks or barrels, it becomes a truly captivating, light, and incredibly quaffable wine. It requires the soil of Villány and abundant sunshine to achieve such charm; further north, it can easily turn into a wine that is overly acidic, harsh, thin, or even unpleasant. It has found its true home in Villány—a fact exemplified by Tamás Lelovits, one of the region's most skilled up-and-coming producers. His wines are free from any "old-fashioned" style or bitterness; every single bottling is excellent, clean, and incredibly easy to drink.
