Description
Rich, intense scent with tropical fruit and spicy notes. Elegant wine, full-flavored, with lively acidity, and a long, balanced finish. The summer was hot, with temperatures often above 35 °C, resulting in early ripening and fruiting. The grapes were ready for picking earlier than at any time in Royal Tokaji's recorded history. The grapes from the rare Kabar variety were harvested on August 6 and 7. An outstanding vintage with a pleasant balance between dry and incredible richness in sweet wines. The high-quality aszu grains were soaked in fermenting must for two days. After pressing and then fermentation, the Aszú wine was aged in our traditional cellar in 300-liter Zemplén oak barrels for 28 months. This was followed by the final blending in early spring, and then bottling in June 2021. It is an excellent accompaniment to sweet and spicy Asian cuisine, foie gras, blue cheeses and fruit desserts.
