Description
In the windy and highly variable areas of Tihany, blue frank is the number one variety. Our plantations located on the crater walls around the Outer and Inner Lakes produce exciting, cool-charactered blue frank every year, and we try to convey the special harmony of the trinity of microclimate, soil and variety with the Magma blue frank selection every year.
If we look at the style, we find Tihany somewhere halfway between the blue frank from Szekszárd and Sopron. Magma ferments spontaneously in small, open vats. During fermentation, we let it soak on the skins, while we mash it by hand, then press it, and let it settle in a tank. Finally, it is put into barrels and matures there for 10-12 months before being filled back into tanks and finally into bottles.
Its vegetal aromas include cabbage, dill and blackcurrant. Fiery and full-bodied, thick and juicy. Long finish with pronounced acidity. Unfiltered, unfined and vegan.
