Tibor Gál
Tibor Gál, a sensitive, knowledgeable, almost visionary winemaker from Eger founded his winery in 1993 and was named Wine Producer of the Year in 1998. However, in 2005, he unfortunately passed away. The 40-hectare estates wines are now made by Tibor Gál Jr. They cultivate many varieties (Pinot Noir, Kadarka, Syrah, Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon, Kékfrankos, Portugieser, Viognier, Leányka, Királyleányka, Hárslevelű, Olaszrizling, Pinot Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Gewürztraminer and Zenit) in their excellent vineyards (Tornyos, Nagy-Eged, Pajados, Síkhegy and Áfrika), but Tibor is committed to sooner or later only having Egri Csillag, Bikavér and Pinot Noir in their portfolio.
