St Andrea

Dr György Lőrincz runs St Andrea, perhaps the most emblematic winery in the Eger wine region. He is also assisted by his son, György Jr, a winemaking graduate. The estate’s 45 hectares are spread over the Magyalos, Pap-tag, Ferenc-hegy, Kovászó, Boldogságos, Kis-Eged, Nagy-Eged-hegy, Nagy-Eged and Hangács vineyards. They work with many grape varieties (Olaszrizling, Hárslevelű, Furmint, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Leányka, Viognier, Kadarka, Kékfrankos, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Turán), but only make a few monovarietal wines. They focus on typical Eger blends. Dr György Lőrincz was named Wine Producer of the Year in 2009, while in 2008, he was chosen as Winemaker of the Winemakers.
