Szent Tamás Estate

Within a few years, the Szent Tamás Estate and Winery has become an important player in Mád and the entire Tokaj wine region. They have 25 hectares, of which 20 hectares are currently cultivated, in the Szent Tamás, Percze, Nyulászó, Kővágó, Betsek. Király, Dongó, Birsalmás, Teleki and Szilvás vineyards, but the winery, run by István Szepsy Jr also purchases grapes from significant areas. As well as the dry estate wines reflecting the Mád terroir, they also have several single-vineyard wines. These mature in 300-500-litre Zemplén oak. Their late harvest wines are also extremely popular. The Első Mádi Borház that they run has become the settlement’s agora. Fresh, reductive styles of wines are made in temperature-controlled stainless steel tank.
