Pieropan
The Pieropan family is synonymous with the history of the Soave wine region: they bottled the first Soave in 1890 and have been champions of quality ever since. Located in the Veneto region of northern Italy, near Verona, they produce organic wines from 6-60-year-old vines grown on volcanic and limestone soils. The Pieropan family was the first to obtain organic certification in the Soave region. Hand harvesting, gentle processing and aging on lees result in a fresh, almond-citrus, salty-mineral wine. Pieropan Soave Classico is a textbook example of tradition and elegance. Their Calvarino and La Rocca cru wines were among the first in Italy to be bottled separately from individual vineyards, which can be compared to the Tokaj or Villány vineyard selection approach.
