Description
A white estate wine made with the addition of Szürkebarát and Zenit, harvested from the Fáy hill built on the Italian Riesling of the Diós vineyard. Early harvest; because due to climate change, the crop has had to be harvested earlier and earlier in the past 15-20 years. The vintage brought extreme heat, with very little precipitation, but the temperature of the summer nights cooled down to around 10 degrees. The grapes were thus unable to bloom, which resulted in nice acids, good structure, and quality character from the few but very high-quality grapes; which we pressed immediately after the hand-harvesting. The Italian Riesling matured in steel tanks, and the Szürkebarát-Zenit in 400-liter oak barrels for almost five months until bottling in February 2026. The end result is a wine with an unmistakable Mátra character, made with great care and making everyday life memorable.
