Description
The grapes that serve as the base for our wine are grown in the neighborhood of the Szent Donát chapel on the Csobánc hill. The name 'Kápolnás bor' in the Badacsonyi wine region meant unique, outstanding quality. Wines produced in the vicinity of the St. Anne's chapel in Badacsony were first labeled "kapolnás" by Styrian buyers, and sometimes they paid two or three times the price for them. It was no different on the south side of the Csobánc hill: in the immediate vicinity of the chapel, the duke and count Esterházy were the largest and most famous producers for centuries. Kápolna Olaszrizling is a member of our outstanding vineyard series, and this variety deserves to be here. It perfectly presents the exceptional features of the Csobánc mountain terroir. Its aroma is restrained, mineral and slowly opening, its flavor stays with us long after tasting.
