Description
A wine from the Navarre estate of the Bodegas Escudero winery. The grapes for the Logos wines come from the family’s Hacienda Logos estate; the La Sarda vineyard is situated at the foothills of the Iberian System mountain range, under the influence of Mount Moncayo.
The wine is crafted from vines averaging 40 years of age, grown in lean, limestone-rich soil with low yields. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at approximately 28°C, with skin contact lasting over 30 days. This is followed by 12 months of aging in first- and second-fill French oak barrels.
It has a deep, dense, chestnut-brown hue. The nose is intense, featuring aromas of forest fruits—a result of the extended skin contact—complemented by notes of violet, a hint of green bell pepper, and vanilla from the oak. On the palate, it is well-structured and exceptionally complex. It is a powerful yet approachable, rounded, and highly flavorful wine.
