Description
With this exceptional Chianti Classico Riserva, the Mazzei family celebrates its famous ancestor, Ser Lapo, in whose writings the name "Chianti" was first mentioned. The upper part of the label features a faithful reproduction of one of his writings (from 1398) in beautiful handwriting. "Do not worry about the price of the wine, although it was expensive: its quality will compensate for everything."
It opens with classic aromas, with notes of blackcurrant, currant and delicate violet. Warm and full-bodied on the palate, with a strong, dark sweet fruit core, smooth tannins, rich and elegant acids. Spicy and long, with clearly appetizing sage and mint notes on the finish.
