Description
Hubert Brochard was founded in 1900 by Aimée and Hubert Brochard when they took over the family farm. Over time, the business increasingly specialized in viticulture. Located in the village of Chavignol—part of the Sancerre appellation—the winery is a key benchmark for Loire Valley wines. The quality and standard of the wines prompted Bollinger to acquire the estate, ensuring continued excellence.
Hubert Brochard’s vineyards cover a total of 93 hectares: 83 hectares in Sancerre (including 10 hectares of Pinot Noir), 5 hectares in Pouilly-Fumé, and 5 hectares classified as IGP.
The Sauvignon grapes originate primarily from vineyards across seven villages, spanning the three famous Sancerre soil types: limestone, flint, and *caillottes* (a mixture of small white limestone pebbles and clay).
Harvesting is carried out using a combination of machine and manual methods. Pressing is performed exclusively in pneumatic presses. Winemaking takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve the Sauvignon’s delicate aromas. It is the perfect expression of an ideal Sancerre.
Pale yellow in appearance. Exceptional aromatics featuring scents of white flowers and citrus, along with exotic notes. On the palate, it is silky, fruity, soft, and elegant.
