At the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2026—one of the world’s most prestigious wine competitions—the Koh-I-Noor Merlot 2018 from the Jammertal Wine Estate in Villány achieved the highest score in the red wine category, winning the "International Revelation Red Wine" award out of approximately 6,500 entries.
The official verdict of the CMB jury:
The nose reveals aromas of black fruits (blackberry, blackcurrant) and spices (liquorice, vanilla), enhanced by notes of leather.
On the palate, the wine is characterized by freshness, remarkable complexity, and great length. It is an elegant, refined, and promising wine.
The Koh-I-Noor Merlot 2018 will be released for sale on August 24 at a gross price of 50,000 HUF per bottle.
