Description
We have been producing single-vineyard Furmint from our Kővágó vineyard in Mád since 2015—though only in exceptional vintages deemed worthy. 2022 marked the first time our head winemaker, Károly Áts, and his team produced Furmint from all four of our historic first-class vineyards where the variety is grown; the grapes were harvested simultaneously and processed using identical methods and equipment. We did this to showcase the differences between our vineyards—differences best revealed through the wines themselves—in the purest and most compelling way possible. Four wines made in the exact same manner—fermented in 500-liter Zemplén oak barrels, aged for nine months, and bottled at the same time—yet each possessing a distinct character, capturing the full beauty of its respective terroir in both aroma and flavor.
