Jásdi Winery
In 1998, István Jásdi bought the Csopak wine estate centre of János Ranolder, former Bishop of Veszprém, thus swapping the life of an economist and diplomat for that of a wine producer. They now harvest around 1,000 hundredweight of grapes from 7 varieties from their 17 hectares. They have excellent plots in the surroundings of Csopak in the Siralomvágó, Lőczedomb, Nagykút, Bene, Szerdahelyi-dűlő, Kertmög and Sáfránkert vineyards. Their key varieties are Olaszrizling and Furmint (formerly known here as Szigeti), but Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Cserszegi Fűszeres, Cabernet Franc and Merlot also feel at home here. István Jásdi was named Winemaker of the Winemakers in 2017.
