Lajos Gál Winery
Dr Lajos Gál is a well-known figure in the Eger wine region, as he ran the local research institute for a long time. Meanwhile, he also regularly made memorable Olaszrizling and red blends in his family winery. In recent years, he has focused on their eight-hectare estate. Their vines can be found in the Síkhegy, Nagy-Eged, Ferenc-hegy, Kántor-tag, Tóbérc, Kamra-völgy and Pajados vineyards, but they also purchase grapes from a few more hectares. They usually ferment their wines in oak, with no cultured yeasted added, and the reds are macerated on their skins for 15-20 days. All their wines are aged in oak until bottling.
