Malatinszky Kúria

Csaba Malatinszky is a “judge” in the Villány wine region, as he was perhaps the first in Hungary to trade in his sommelier job at Gündel Restaurant for the status of winemaker. True, this happened in 1997. Today, he cultivates Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Muscat Ottonel, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot on his 30-hectare estate, with Chardonnay and Cabernet Franc playing a clear leading role. The winery has been farming organically since 2009 and only work with their own grapes. After Csaba Malatinszky visited Bordeaux, he opened a vinoteque in the centre of Budapest in 1992.
