Vayi Winery - Krisztián Ungváry
The director of the winery, Dr Krisztián Ungváry, is originally a historian by profession. He has also worked as a wine writer since 1993, buying his first vineyards in 1996. He makes his wines from the fruit of the Vayi vineyard in Olaszliszka. Once peculiarity of the vineyard is some of its vines are small-cluster Furmint, planted by the Baron Vay family a hundred years ago. The range of wines from the Vaji vineyard are very pure: Muscat, a dry wine christened with a hundred-year-old name, a sweet cuvée and a Pinot Noir concealed behind a bat.
