Márkvárt Winery

The Márkvárt Family Winery was re-established in 1996, based on the old family tradition of viticulture and winemaking, passed down from grandfather to grandson. The defining feature of the small winery is that they don’t use oak, whatever they get comes from their grapes. Their greatest treasure is their Kadarka vineyard, planted in 1935 with unstaked bush vines. Their Kadarka and Kékfrankosuk are important reference points. Wine region: Szekszárd Winemaker: János Márkvárt Jr Estate size: 4.5 ha Main varieties: Olaszrizling, Kékfrankos, Cabernet Sauvignon, Zweigelt, Blauburger, Cabernet Franc, Kadarka
