Pannonhalma Archabbey
The Pannonhalma Archabbey and MKB Bank reconstructed the estate destroyed after World War II under the guidance of Tibor Gál, replanting the vines and building a new cellar and winery. It was a big job. The estate is now 52 hectares, and the winery is run by Zsolt Liptai. They cultivate Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Gewürztraminer, Pinot Blanc, Olaszrizling, Chardonnay, Királyleányka, Sárfehér, Viognier, Pinot Noir, Merlot and Cabernet Franc in the Széldomb, Babszökő, Tavaszó, Packalló and Cseresznyés vineyards. Annual production of both single varietal wines and blends is about 300,000 bottles.
