Description
It has been cultivated for a long time in our wine region, this grape variety made Ménes famous. Its color is ruby red, with a deeper tone than the average kadarkas. Rich in smell and taste, spicy, wild flower and fruity aromas are mixed. Kolna: The new "KOLNA Vineyard Selection" wine line replaces our series known as "Selection". The word is of Serbian-Croatian origin and means: wine cellar and usually a press house integrated with it, where wine is also used to be drunk. In the heyday of the Ménesi wine region, in the XIX. during the 19th century, nearly two thousand such KOLNAs were built on the vineyard hills, which had important social and cultural significance, as they were the defining locations of local community life in addition to grape processing and winemaking. The name KOLNA refers to the history of the wine region, its outstanding period, as well as the community-forming power of tradition and wine culture. The wine family wants to emphasize the importance of the place of production, to show what the traditional grape varieties are capable of in the Ménes wine region, and it also wants to be a reliable meeting point for consumers, as KOLNÁK was at the time.
