"Our family's flagship wine is Barbár. Over the past decade and a half, we have honed a very striking and unique blend. I consider Barbár to be one of my parents' most valuable legacies. It is based on our first own vineyards, planted on the roof of the Porkoláb Valley in 2002. They are called "French Merlot" and "French Cabernet", because we naturalized small-berry Bordeaux clones. In addition to the classic world varieties, the ancestors of the Basque Country have played a decisive role from the beginning. We have also used the Kékfrankos from the beginning, because of its delicate fruits and lightness: it was pioneering in 2006, and has now become completely part of the spirit of the times. In 2020, we harvested a small but beautifully ripe fruit, free from excesses. Thanks to the gentle processing and maturation, in Barbár, in addition to fresh fruits and dried flowers, the maturation is restrained It also shows its barrel notes. The 11th vintage of our top wine is already in great shape: with its delicate red berry fruits, light tea and floral notes, it is a powerful, confident, but not at all sweaty wine, with serious aging potential.
