Description
The basic Tawny is also blended from several vintages, aged for an average of 3 years, but it has been matured in small barrels, so thanks to the stronger microoxidation, it has a softer, lighter color than Ruby, and shows more nutty and dried fruit notes. Aged Tawnies are amber-colored, complex, silky wines that are matured for 10, 20, 30, 40 years, with honey and raisin flavors dominating. Graham's The Tawny is a transition between the two categories: it has rested for 7-8 years in large barrels, a wine with a smooth texture and a nutty character, in which, however, fresh fruits are also present. Like Tawnys in general, they are the product of several vintages and are aged in small barrels.
