Orsogna is recognized as the largest organic and biodynamic estate in the world (!), 85% of the 1200 ha of total production area is organic and 35% is under Demeter-certified biodynamic cultivation. In the case of wine, let's dispel a misconception right away! Montepulciano here does not denote the well-known and recognized Tuscan subregion, but the grape variety, which is found almost only in this wine region, a little unknown to Hungarians, in Abruzzo. Its characteristic is its explosive richness of aroma, which is why many compare it to Zweigelt, but this variety is much more full-bodied, thicker, and more alcoholic. It is a fresh, rich, thick, yet airy wine, with aromas of cloves, dried plums, and leather, which goes perfectly with Italian cuisine.
