Description
Aszú wines with the vineyard name are only made in the event of an exceptionally good vintage. The 2017 harvest of the Szent Tamás vineyard was perfectly suitable for this. The summer was hot, so we started picking the aszu beans at the beginning of September and continued this in the ideal autumn weather. October in particular provided three textbook weeks, perfect for the development of high-quality ash: early morning fog, afternoon sun and wind. We soaked the top-quality Aszu grains in fermenting must for two days. After pressing and then barrel fermentation, the Aszú wine was aged for two years in Zemplén oak barrels in our historic cellar. This wine is characteristically complex and concentrated with citrus notes, and its aroma is dominated by orange peel and orange jam. Its harmony and balance are unique, combined with a beautiful acid backbone. A real volcanic ash. Sugar: 191.3 g/l Acid: 7.41 g/l Results: Wine Enthusiast 2022 - 99 points
